Children of the World

Children of the World International Children’s Choir is composed of orphaned and/or disadvantaged children from countries all over the globe. The choir travels across the United States on a 10-month tour (August through June), presenting its program in churches, schools, and other venues. Each program includes powerful testimonies from the children’s personal experiences, several songs in both English and native dialects, and a video presentation including footage of the children’s home countries.

The Overflow Tour is our 12th year touring the U.S., sharing the story of millions of orphaned and disadvantaged children. The choir is composed of children from Uganda, Nepal, and the Philippines who participate in World Help’s Child Sponsorship Program.

Think about this for a second: Today alone, 29,000 children will perish due to preventable diseases including pneumonia, malaria, and diarrhea. Perhaps even more surprising is the fact that over half of these deaths occur due to malnutrition and lack of clean water.

You’ve probably heard a number like this before. Maybe, if you’re honest, it’s been difficult to get your mind and heart around just a number. After all, the concept of children dying unjustly in developing countries seems so distant from our everyday lives. This is why Children of the World exists.

The children in the choir are the voices, the smiles, and the stories of the thousands who cannot tell their own stories. We believe their stories deserve to be told. Like all children, they have beautiful dreams for their futures, families, communities, and nations. Their dreams are worth it.

We also believe that children are the very best storytellers. They make the faces behind the numbers real to us. Most importantly, children help us understand that we must do more to make their stories a part of our own.
