Children of the World

Children of the World International Children's Choir is composed of orphaned and/or disadvantaged children from countries all over the globe. The choir travels across the United States on a 10-month tour (August through June), presenting its program in churches, schools, and other venues. Each program includes powerful testimonies from the children’s personal experiences, several songs in both English and native dialects, and a video presentation including footage of the children’s home countries.

One billion children in the world live in poverty—400 million of them lack access to clean water. A staggering 160 million children, under the age of five, suffer from malnutrition, and each year 9 million die from preventable diseases. Children of the World exists to change the world one child at a time by putting a face to the desperate needs of children whose lives have been devastated by civil war, famine, poverty, unclean water, and preventable diseases.

Since inception, Children of the World has raised funds to help complete a multitude of various projects; some of which include:

  • providing over 35,000 sponsorships for children around the world, meeting the basic needs of food, clothing, educational opportunities, and medical attention
  • drilling 115 wells in 7 different countries
  • building 23 Homes of Hope for HIV/AIDS affected orphans in various countries in Africa
  • providing 10 Forgotten Children Centers, as well as a vocational school in Uganda
  • constructing 3 Children’s Homes

World Help’s goal is to help train and equip these children so that they can grow up to become future leaders, impacting their home countries. While adoption is an option for some children, it is not possible for the children in the choir. However, you can make an eternal investment in the lives of these children through sponsorship.

Please contact childsponsorship@worldhelp.net to get more information on sponsorship.

Each of the children that are selected to be a part of Children of the World are a part of World Help's Child Sponsorship Program. For selection, we rely on our in-country coordinators who work with the children on a daily basis to select children that will be good candidates mentally, physically, and emotionally for the choir. These children and their parents, if they have them, are then given the option of whether or not they want to be a part of Children of the World. Our national partners consider it to be a great opportunity for the children to come to the U.S., learn another culture, improve their English skills, help other children around the world, and share Christ’s love.
